I think The London Stadium is great They (Media) simply hate that it has gone to West Ham, they even hate that West Ham are getting 50.000 plus crowds in it every time they play there.

As Takashi says below the more they moan about it the more they slag it off, the more I will love it.

I can't believe the amount of people surprised at the atmosphere on Wednesday. The first 'big' game was always going to be loud and intimidating. I think it can only get better too. When the whole ground is singing at the same time it just booms!

Home games against the likes of Sunderland and Watford will always be less of an atmosphere, as they were at Upton Park. Chelsea, Tottenham, Arsenal and Man Utd among others will be brilliant though.

Wednesday night was fxxxxxx awesome, the atmosphere as good if not better than anything at upton park. I loved the old place will forever miss it was going since '75 , but this new place is the total nut's that why the media are trying to down us with this stadium. we are going places, may take a couple of years but get used to winning silverware as things are are on the up

So this is the opinion of one expert and an unnamed "source close to the London Legacy Development Corporation (probably the cleaner from the offices next door)".

I like it, been 4 times and each time it gets better, it's the morons that cause the violence that's the problem

Seems to me the media and referees have it in for us, any of the big four that had decisions like we've had the last two seasons would be going mental, we've had some shocking decisions, but it seems the press are going into overdrive about our new stadium, it's improving with every game, and Wednesday nights atmosphere was electric, all they're interested in is the negatives, and all the "experts" are jumping on the bandwagon, there was more arrests and damage caused at the Manchester derby, yet we are constantly vilified, it's a joke.

Re: The Olympic Stadium is simply not fit for football, say experts.....
As it was not a custom built football stadium it lacks the intimacy of the old place ( that would be the place with the old chicken run ). As has been demonstrated though we can certainly whip up a good atmosphere and if we can get 55K plus for our next big London Derby we'll raise the roof.

I well remember the extremely negative stuff the press dealt out to the millennium Dome. Just look at the business it does now though.

Re: The Olympic Stadium is simply not fit for football, say experts.....
He's not much of an expert when his biggest moan about hooliganism is open space outside the stadium.

Would all that open space go if you rebuilt the stadium for 'football mode'? No course not. It would still be there and probably more if they downsized it.

The open space argument doesn't have any connection to the stadium. The old bill dunno how to police matches there...yet. i'm sure they will.

I hope they don't though. I'd love to see an outcome where West Ham can have ownership and reshape it to a football stadium in exchange for paying for the policing and stewarding (and getting the cash from the catering too)

All this talk of playing behind closed doors, deducting us points (how can you do that if we're not accountable?!)...all because a few hundred fans started shouting and throwing stuff at each other.

Wasn't even a punch thrown from what I saw.

To be fair as away fans, if our lot coin people then it's hard to keep your kids safe.

What a complet load of utter bullshit, rip down a stadium that cost hundreds of millions of punds where the Olympics were held, seriously the person who wrote this needs to be fired.

What was it that people saw in "Fortress Upton Park", that they wanted so much to keep?

Was it the fear that the opposition got from our fans? The fear of being SHOUTED at? VERY LOUDLY? THAT fear?

Fucking hell, for 50 bags a week people can shout at me all they like for doing a job I enjoy. Ker-ching!

To be fair as away fans, if our lot coin people then it's hard to keep your kids safe except by not taking them. That's a liberty and anyone coining people is scum. However as home fans it's safe as houses to bring your kids. Mine have been to every match this season and all of them esp my 8 year old daughter loved it on Wednesday night.

Kids are safe unless your an idiot. The home stewarding is becoming more normal and our fans now know the rules in each area. The last 3 games the stand up sit down stress has gone, the atmosphere has improved, with the enjoyment improving. Whilst the team is back and on the up. Obvious teething issues slowly being sorted and it will take a couple of years , we all knew that. Its as if every stadium is so friendly, morons. Ours is the most exciting again.
